RO/DI Auto Shut off
I have a RO/DI with a float valve and shutoff in my water container. Can I split the line add a second water container with its own float valve? I want to be able to fill the water container and/or a salt water mixing bucket when each falls lower than the float valve.
Thanks -- joe |

Don't see why not. I would use some sort of solenoids on each line to make sure they are off.

Anyone else have any ideas. I myself think it would work, but I am betting someone here is doing this or found out it didnt work.

It works...I have a "Y" on the output line of the RO/DI and i have 2 lines running, one to my freshwater container and the other to the saltwater mixing container. Both have Kent float valves and both have worked flawlessly for me. The only problem i have is low water pressure, so I am only able to fill one at a time, but if i have both open to fill both containers, it would take about a day and half to fill each up vs. the half day for each if one line is closed.

Thanks, that is exactly what I want to do. I am planning to add a valve to each one too so that I can direct the filling if need be.

You can split the line just fine.
I would be real careful with only having a float valve, especially in your salt mix. You should really hookup a float switch or optical sensor with solenoid as a backup to prevent floods when your float valve fails. |
