Frag ? Colt Coral

I have a Colt Coral in my 12g Ap thats getting rather large now, and it's time to start trimming.

I have a question, not about fragging it, but about "splitting it. In the image I supplied below, can I "split" it at this area (Yellow Arrow), or is it not recommended?? It is 2 separate stalks on 1 piece of rock.
I have another tank that I will move the larger coral to, and leave the smaller in the 12g.

Thanks!

Split HIM!!! Just short of throwing it in the driveway and beating it up with a chainsaw, they will live!

if you cut it a litlle higher up on the stem, it will grow a new branch or even more.

How much of the colt has to be left for it to grow back?

Well, I cut him at the point in the image. The first few hours both were very upset, sagging, loss of color, etc. Later that evening though, both pieces were back to normal. The larger of the 2 is in my other tank now, and the smaller in the BC.

I didn't experience any kind of "oozing" or anything at all TBH.

I think that I will have to trim the big one again in a few weeks. It's growing extremely fast.

As I mentioned, I moved the larger of the 2 into a 29g tank...

He looks just as big in there as before I made the cut.

How can I attach them to a rock ? Can I use a rubberband to help hold to a rock ?

yes you should be able to use a rubberband... and in a few weeks it should attatch to the rock and you should be able to cut the rubberband.. other wise you can use super glue or a tooth pick (and more rubberbands)...
