Advice on DYI nano tank stand
Hey all, I just created these models in google's sketch-up.
They aren't the best, but I would like to get some advice on the design. If you have and comments or questions please post. XD It will be made of pine. There will be a 10gal nano on the top and a 10gal sump below. There is storage for lighting and cords, and other equipment.

The design seams fine, I think your drawing is a bit out of scale though.
Remember that a 10 gallon tank is only 20" x 10" x 12", not a lot of space to work with. If you plan on putting a 10 gallon sump under there, you will find that you run out of room to put things rather quickly. Good luck - Jenn

I agree with waterbugjen, your design is fine, and a ten gallon for a sump is very small. You will surely want to put a set of baffles in the sump to keep bubbles from getting into your return section, if nothing else. Then you may run into problems finding a skimmer that will fit those dimensions, if you use a skimmer. Just my opinion, even though I have never had such a small reef.

Good point...
Fitting a skimmer is going to be tight but prob doable if you use something like a tunze nano 9002.

the drawings look great but in reality it not gonna look anything like that with a 10gal tank and a 10 gal sump...there the same size and a very small stand..the drawings look like a 75al or something....
