Where to buy aquariums online?

I've been out of the hobby for quite a few years, but am ready to jump back in! I used to know all the good places to buy glass aquariums online, but have forgotten. My car has absolutely no cargo space so was thinking i'd just have it delivered rather than buy at a LFS. I want to get a glass RR aquarium + stand that is 50-75 gallons. Anyone know of a good place to buy online these days??

Thanks in advance!!

You can't borrow a truck or something to haul a 55 or 75g aquarium??? Get real.

And then you suggest the same thing I did? I don't know of any 55 - 75g that wouldn't fit in a car. What's he driving???

Unfortunately I do not know anybody with a truck/SUV.

So my options are buy at LFS and pay someone to deliver or...

buy online and have it delivered.

I will choose the cheaper option

You have to have a freind with a truck, but in any case, many LFS do offer delivery for a fee. It'll be much cheaper than paying freight charges.

lol, thanks. The "get real" statement is funny since he assumes I have the ability to just borrow a truck. I am a student away from home and the only people I know are fellow students (none of which own a truck or suv)

Thank you! I will check prices at the LFSs here. Last time I looked was a few years ago and had a hard time finding a RR aquarium the size I wanted. The LFSs in LV are lacking in quality and selection!

I don't even know what an RX-8 is... but you're talking about a 55 - 75g aquarium like it's a 300g tank. I've laid my passenger front seat back & sat a tank diagonal on my front seat before. Trust me, I don't know of a car that can't haul a 4x2 tank.

Bring a friend to pick up the stand or make two trips. I honestly was being helpful - you sounded like you were at the point of paying $$$ for shipping of a tank that can be bought right in town.

Frank, I had a difficult time loading a 40 gallon aquarium in my car. It barely fit. Believe me when I say a 75 gallon will not fit.

ooooh nice ride!!

Look for one on Craigslist or in the classified section. Ask if they'll deliver.

check your local reef club, im sure there are some members that would be willing to help out, If not your LFS should be willing to deliver it for a small fee, defenatly cheaper than having it delivered by UPS, FedEx or something like that

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find too many online vendors for tanks myself so I am curious as to what the answer to the original question is?

I was just looking at 20g and 34g nanos on marinedepot, and noticed that they want $416 in freight to deliver a $599 system. Ooof.

For something the size of a 55-75, I think local is your best bet. Patience + Craigslist will be your most economical route. Renting a bigger car for a day may be an option if the tank is really choice.

hahaha, the guy that said borrow a truck is from texas....anyways -

I have a nissan 350z - I went and bought a 40breeder from a LFS and had to come back later with a truck cause that wouldnt even fit.

My brother drives a Rx8 - there is NO WAY a 75 would fit

You could always saw the tank in half and just make 2 trips

REally though...TRy TRU-VU aquariums if you dont mind acrylic. FREE SHIPPING and CHEAP RR tanks
