micro bubbles/bubble trap

i am having a issue with bubble being sent into the return pump. My baffles are set up over/under/over, but I'm thinking maybe they are to far to one side? there is just enough space for my mag 18 to fit. lmk what you guys think its driving me nuts

Current Tank Info: 144 half circle, 40g sump, 2x250 lumen brite's, np biopellets. 20x20x9.5 frag tank w/ dual 1" overflows

is it the distance between the baffles?
