Buying Used Glass Tank Q
I am looking for a 36" glass tank to make into a sump. I remember reading somewhere that if FW ich meds (copper or the blue stuff) have been used in it they would leak into the SW and potentially damage the tank. Is this true?

A good wipe with some vinegar will remove any medications that might cause a problem for saltwater animals. No medication will damage the tank itself physically, if that's what you meant.

I have filled tanks with dilute vinegar and water to clean them (remove hardwater stains, etc). If you are afraid, you should be able to fill the tank with water and test it to see if any copper remains.

I too have done this and had absolutely zero problems. My sump tank that i bought second hand was a POS and took alot of cleaning. You should be fine.
