Need Suggestions/help setting up a 90Gal
Hi i'm new to Marine aquariums, i've been reaserching a lot about them and i was originaly going to make the 90gal tank i have a freshwater tank, but i want to try a marine setup and hopefully later when i can get better lighting upgrade to a reef tank.
I have a couple of questions, first do i have to use live rock in the tank to cycle it, is it better, i know it's expensive and i woudl like to avoid major costs if possible but if live rock will make the tank more stabel etc, then ok. Secondly, is there a certain sand i hould get? pro's / con's? i'm thinking of a 1-2inch layer of sand in the bottom, just need some advice. I'm leaning toward getting a Euro Reef VS-100 Skimmer, is this a good model or should i get an alternate model? maybe a cheaper one that works good too? I will be making a sump, hopefully around 30gal or so any help in setup will be great. Thanks Lee |

READ,READ,READ, I studied this web site for at least 5 weeks. I learned more and more every time I logged on. I even got enough information to glue up a 75g acrylic tank with no prior exp. Keep reading. As for your questions Im not yet exp. in any of the areas. you have asked about.
