Refuge in sump

I wanted to add a green mandarin in my tank and wanted to know with the bubble trap and the pump will the pods be able to go up into the display tank safely?

I think you would be okay. But dont take me for your final answer because I have never handeled a mandarin.

Also why are you putting them in your sump refuge? You could just put them in your display. My friend has been doing it for over a year now, it is a risk because you could be adding something else but it is worth it.

The OP wants them to thrive and populate the macro algae so that he/she doesn't need to keep buying them.

If your tank and fuge is set up correctly with enough rock in the display tank and a diverse, healthy fuge, you will always have enough pods flowing back into the display to feed a Mandarin. People have been keeping then for years and years without any special tricks. A properly setup and maintained system is all that's needed.

I hear you just put a 1 inch sandbed, some LR chunks, and chaeto in there and then dump some pods into it and your good to go to feed a mandarin. but I haven't kept a mandarin...
