Meanwell Driver - NEED HELP

Ok, so i have the meanwell 60-48P driver. i am having trouble getting it to work. I connected the ac in to an old comp power cord i hacked up, acn (blue) to the white and acl (brown) to the black. on the dc out side i put the red + to the start of my LED chain and the black - to the other end of the LED chain. For some reason though i am not getting anything at all. I sort of see a faint glimmer when i move the contacts around but that's it.

I tested each LED individually and they work fine, solder points between LED's seem good. Do i need to do something with the dimmable leads or something? i have them just capped off right now.

Thanks

I havent had a P model to play with yet, but my guess is that you need to hook the +Dim to 10Volts and the -Dim to the return or it wont turn on.

Says this in the spec:

"When there is no signal sending to the control wires (open circuit between the two control wires), the power supply
unit will operate as 0V (D-type) or 0% duty (P-type) of input signal and hence the output current will be zero."

A 9V battery might work to get it going.

Just remember when it fires up it will likely be driving at 1.5 Amps.
Our usual LEDs will last about 5 seconds at that setting.

but i can just open up the driver and turn down the current pot, right? and slowly ramp it up? or is that not relevant when connecting it this way?

It's odd though, i connected it this exact way before and tried it on a single LED which was instantly fried. but on a string of 13 it doesn't do anything.

You need to turn down the current POT inside the driver.
I run the LED string current through a DMM to set it to 700mA ( 0.7A ).

You need to make the setting while the PWM dim lines are held at 10VDC.

Yeah .... however you got it to work, the Meanwells are set to 1.5 Amps from the factory. You can fry quite a few LEDs by "just hooking it up" ( been there, done that ).

Turn the current pot all the way down before experimenting.
Once you get it going, turn it back up.
