I've been to every home improvement / hardware store in a 30-minute radius, without being able to find Weld-On or any methylene chloride based adhesives (which was recommended on some other site I found). All I was able to find was a loctite branded "Plastix bonder" which comes in a two part epoxy type plunger tube, and which I suspect is thick (and therefore won't be 'water-thin' and give me the capillary action I assume is critical) and a GE branded '100% Silicone Sealant" which comes in a toothpaste style tube with a cutoff plastic tip (cut to bead size). Does anybody know if either of these would be useable, or should I just buy Weld-on online somewhere (link?) ?
The application is simply gluing acrylic baffles in an acrylic wet/dry that I'm planning on using as my sump. The Loctite product contain methyl methacrylate, which is probably the right material (acrylic is poly-methyl methacrylate, IIRC), but the GE brand was literally a shelf above the acrylic sheets @ Home Depot, and clearly meant for that application, but I've found nothing about what's in it... Thoughts? Thanks. |

The silicone will not work, the epoxy like you said will be very thick and you won't have very nice looking joints. I'm sure there's a place to buy The right stuff online
