Light hanging advice..

What do people do to hang light such as the Ati's without hanging from the ceiling? Just looking for a clever way to do this.

Thanks.

I bent two lengths of steel electrical conduit. They can be attached to the wall or back of the stand with simple "U" brackets.

I actually made a wood bracket out of some 2x4's that the conduit slides into. Then I slid that behind my tank. Once painted black, the conduit looks decent.

Current USA makes a kit if you don't want to bend the pipe yourself.

Also don't be scared of going from the ceiling. You can use drywall hooks so you don't need to find a beam and the hole you need to make is quite small (about the size of a dime). I just finished patching mine up with spackle. Took about 5 minutes and you can't even tell there was a hole.

I wouldn't trust a couple of drywall hooks for a 48" light. If one fails, it could smash the tank and do some damage.

In my opinion this does need to be taken into consideration, especially since you go into some homes and see they didn't even bother screwing the drywall to the ceiling but used nails instead.

Many have luck with it, but use with caution.
