Am I wasting my money on Aluminum phosphate media?
I had a problem with my 2 Little Fishies reactor and all my GFO got pumped into the sump. The only pet store open tomorrow has Aluminum Phos X. I have used this before with no problems with my 3 clams. How inferior is it to regular GFO at absorbing phosphate. Thanks

IMO it's not inferior. I prefer it to GFO as its a lot less messy. I've been using it for a couple years with no issues, or phosphate problems.

The aluminum media are efficient, but they have been known to cause problems for animals, as they leach aluminum into the water column. I'd avoid using it, but it might be okay.
