basement plumbing,
high,
i have had my tank set up for almost three years, dt up stairs and sump/skimmer ect down in the basement. have always had a lot of air coming through the drain pipe. also kind of nosiy. so i decided to vent the pipe dumping in the sump. shortly after i started the pump up water would pour out the vent. need to put the vent up high to keep it form over flowing cured it. the amount of air entering the sump is greatly reduced. now i have alot of noise from the overflow/durso box. venting the pipe increased the flow rate through the drain pipe and is now causing the over flow so sound like a continous flushing noise. the one way i can see to fix it is to restrick the main drain. ? is this the best way, or is there a nother way. wife does not like the noise.(ear plugs did not make her happy). any help would be greatfull. roy |
