hermit crab on bali slimer ... slimer not to happy :(

I have this hermit crab who has been sitting in my bali slimer and the branch he seems to be sitting on doesn't seem to be too happy . I can't really tell if he's actually picking at the coral but little polyp extension the slimer seems stressed . should I be worried ?

I had a crab that used to do that to my gorgonian, I would just throw him off when ever i saw him. They dont eat the coral, but they do irritate it. Just make sure he's off the coral like an hour before feeding time so the coral opens back up. He'll change his mind eventually.

I had some that use to crawl up on top of my SPS all the time. Never seemed to bother anything. I would take them off sometimes, but after a while I just gave up. I think they just feel safe up there.

Personally, crabs are not my favorite for any kind of reef. They will eat almost anything when they get the chance.

I agree with drawman. I am down to like 2 crabs in my tank and the corals seem to like it much better without the crabs.
