Keeping SPS Acros
So, I haven't had much look keeping acros in my tank. I have mh 250 watts and vhos so plenty of light in my 75 gallon tank. My calcium is always in the 480 to 500 range. but I never tested for alk. Well I now have a test kit and my alk is 5.1 not nearly the 7 to 9 range. So whats the best way to get this in range and keep it there? I really want to start keeping acros. I have other SPS that do fine just not Acros. My green slimmer is doing very well. Any ideas?

2-part dosing, kalk or calcium reactor will help keep your ca/alk in check.

+1 you really need to choose one of those methods and go with it in order to keep a number of SPS properly. 2 part or the Ca reactor being the most popular choice. IMO kalk can't handle higher demands that SPS need. Look into www.bulkreefsupply.com they have a total package that has everything you need to get started for around $70, then don't forget your going to need some quality test kits. I use salifert for Ca, Alk, and Mg.
