Snails in acrylic tank

I have an Acrylic tank

I was wondering if I can add some snails as clean up crew

or will they drag my fine sand to scartch my acrylic?

I wouldnt worry about it. I have snails as part of my cuc and I have an acrylic tank. I am more cautious about my cleaning the tank and picking up sand with the algae pad.

I have heard of the scrapers of the snails scratching, not so much the sand. I do not know if this is species specific, but just caught it in a discussion on here the other day.

I have had snails in acrylic tanks, and haven't had much trouble. Some limpets, and perhaps some snails, might be more of an issue.

I had an acrylic tank for years with a variety of snails and never had a problem. Had a bigger problem with children scratching the outside, so switched to glass.

I have hundreds of snails in my tank, and in the 6 months or so that its been up and running, I think snails are about the only thing that hasn't scratched it.

I have read horror stories about urchins and acrylic tanks however
