Vertex IN-100 Skimmer Pump Replacement

I am looking at the SICCE pump to replace the RESUN pump in my Vertex IN-100 Skimmer that makes more noise than it should. The SICCE pump is fairly inexpensive but I was wondering if anyone has actually replaced it before I spent the money. I've read through the VERTEX club thread and people are asking the same thing without responses. Thought this thread could hit more people. Thanks.

sicce`s can be a little loud as well but they push a lot of water & pull air well for their size. might want to check out a bubbleblaster also

I put a sicce on my in-100 about six months ago. it doesn't skim that much better, but the pump is a lot quieter than the stock pump. and it just plugged right in to the body like the stock one did. I did not use the pump bracket that the stock pump attaches to, that keeps the skimmer up right. so when I dump the cup out the skimmer falls over to the side until I plug it back in and it fills back up with water.

Which sicce did you replace the stock IN-100 pump with? Where did you buy the sicce? Thanks a lot

Exclamation Resun GF-1100

I am a discus breeder and I could see you discussing about air pumps. I have about 40 aquariums and wanted to know which is the best option for them. I am currently using resun GF-1100, which I want to keep as a back up. Which one would you advise to replace it, the best brand now, easy to find in US?
