SRS, Shallow Rimless in Sweden.
So..
I've had saltwatertanks for a few years now, this is actually my fifth tank. It is a temporary tank since me and my family consisting of wife and 3 kids are planning to sell our current home and buy a bigger in 1-2 years. I had originally promised the wife not to set anything up until we had moved but since she is a understanding wife she eventually let me have this smaller tank while waiting for the move (maybe a new kitchen, new flooring and new furniture had something to do with her "understanding") I have a crap point and click camera atm so sorry for the bad quality of pics. English is my second language so please bear with me on that too. Anyway the tank is 100cm x 80cm x 30cm l w h and i have a Bubble Magus 150pro skimmer that has really impressed me with not only its performance but also with the buildquality it uses a Aquabee 2000/1 needlewheel pump. Lightning for this tank is a 8x39w T5 The Stand was built with kitchendoors and other kitchenstuff from here: and woodbeams from here:

I finally managed to get the stand level so i could take it into the house and put the tank on it.
After having built the overflowchamber and siliconing it in the tank i leaktested the tank. I fixed the sump myself using an old 20gallon i had standing, very simple since its only temporary, 2 compartments with bubbletraps between skimmer and return compartment. hooked the piping up and fired it up.

Put some liverock in it..
Sand.. I usually go BB but in this tank with all the open space on the bottom it wouldnt look nice i think so i have thin layer of sand. After that i havent done much.. added a few fish and frags.. waiting a while more before i put anything else in it.

Awesome tank!
I live just 3 miles from an IKEA. Your cat is crazy, btw.

Actually no. I ordered the BM skimmer from Hong Kong and put those two streams in the same order. They were like 8 bucks each so i figured i'd give them a try and if the price would have matched their quality i could always use them as saltmixingpumps. But they have actually worked great, silent and strong enough flow for this tank. Eventually ill change them out for the Tunze Nanos because i like the way they look compared to these.. but as long as these keeps working as good as they have im in no hurry.

Fishlist sofar
Ventralis anithias Percula Clown Rainfordi goby Nemateleotris decora Acanthurus Japonicus (small) The tank is a little too small for the Japonicus but i figured that since it is a small one and im upgrading in about a year i'd go ahead and get it.

Do you have any better pictures of your stand during the building? I may run by Ikea and see what I can find this weekend. Thanks for the idea. |

That's a terrific setup you have. I'd love to find a tank with those dimensions around here.

I love it. I've had my share of skimmers the last ones being Fauna Marine Ultraskim II and Deltec APF 600. It definately is better or atleast as good as both of them.. And to a third of the price!
