Potters angel with Flame angel

Hey guys I got my potters and acclimated him for two hours and introduced him into a home made viewing tank. The flame angel was perfectly fine with him and there has been no fighting at all. I released the potters after two days and both graze happily and feed happily. I've had the flame for one year so I think it's safe to say I beat the odds by adding the potters after the flame. It is possible but should be done cautiosly. They are both pigs and eat anything readily.

Interested to know how this relationship is still doing? Are they still a happy couple in the same tank 6 months later? Update please!

How that's great to hear! When I get a bigger tank, I am probably gonna try mixing Dwarfs.

Never had any issues mixing dwarfs either - even in a 55gallon. If there's adequate food and ample rocks they rarely looked at each other.

I had several Dearfs in my 265. I had 2 flames in there with a potters, a coral beauty, a pygmy(cherub), and also a rusty angel. Never had a problem they were together for almost 6 years.

I will be going with a Nox and Potter's in my 125g. I don't anticipate issues but they'll be added together, just in case.

Any chance of some pics? I love potters and have wanted one for awhile but wouldn't get one due to the fact that I have a flame angel and was worried about fighting. Is is atypical that they get along or is fighting more common?

I had a Potters and Flame in a 400 for over a year, then the Flame got a taste for nipping corals so it had to go. Still have the Potters, great fish!

i plan on getting a potters angel and a flame angel and adding them to my system at the same time. hopefuly i will have luck with them getting along. and them not nipping at my corals or clams. at least i hope they don't do enough damage to kill a coral

Glad to hear. Just keep an eye on the Flame. We had one that was fine with our other Centropyges for about 2 years and then he rather quickly became very territorial with our Golden Pygmies. I ended up removing the Flame due to his aggressiveness.

Wow i must have bad luck. I had a flame angel for about a year in a 75 gallon and i tried adding a coral beauty. Let's just say the flame angel didn't like it. It wasn't a pretty picture

If the Flame is 1st in, then you will definitely run into this. Especially, if your Flame is a male. From what I have seen, they are the most territorial of the Centropyges.

Update... Both are still very happy grazing the rocks. They seem to be the dynamic duo and the best friends in the tank. No nipping at any corals. Actually last night I swear I witnessed some spawning activity under the actinics, maybe I'm just seeing things. They both rose together to the top of the water like mandarins but nothing happened.
