Is this ich?

Hey guys,

My female Clarkii will everyone once in a while rub on a rock as she swims by! This happens not very often and was wondering if this could be caused by Ich? She has not a single white spot on her and is eating and acting very normal! Just looking for some insight if this is a normal behavior or not!

before you jump to conclusions tho it can also be from water quality problems....check your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. If those are fine, then it may be ich or some other infection.

Not normal, for the most part.

May be fluke.

Clowns are just plain weird fish. Kind of the odd balls of the reef Mine will rub up against rocks, the overflow even the sandbed sometimes. IMO its just normal behavior. If you don't see any white spots and the fish is eating normally, there is nothing to worry about.

I'd agree, just keep monitoring the params as normal... also if you would like to do something, you can always use suplements in thier diet, like garlic extracts... it worked for me.

Its unfair to say definitely ich when you haven't even seen a picture. Sometimes even pictures can be deceiving.

i would say it was normal clown behaviour, mine does the same very rare but is the only one that does it, my parameters are fine and he is very healthy and so are all his companions, like everyone is saying just keep an eye out for bad signs

yeah, i would agree with this statement... you can't say it is ich unless the fish present more signs, and deff not before you see a pic...

Read some of the ich threads on here, they are very imformative. Also keep looking for the white spots are scars. If you are not seeing them then don't go over board. Keep the fish healthy and they can fight a lot of things off.
