What wattage MH fixture?

Right now I got a 75g setup and plan on upgrading to a 120 in the near future. So i would have to upgrade my light from my 48" Nova Pro T5's and was thinking of getting some MH. Now my question is should I get a 150 or 250w?

250 watt if your 120 is the standard 24" deep 120. A 150 bulb will not get enough light to the bottom of a 24" deep tank.

absolutely no need for 400 watts, 250's will be plenty

If your looking to do pendants I would look in to coralvue ballast with a reeflux bulb in the 250watt I've been running 2x250w 12k bulbs on my 120 for the past 4 years and love the growth I get out of my corals and the color is really awesome too just do a lot of research on what others are running before buying and then deciding that you should have got something else. Good luck Forgot to mention I don't run any pc or t5 bulbs just straight MH

I'm running 1 175 watt in a 125, but it's also 5 inches off the water, and supplementary(sp?) lighting. If you are doing a pendant...250 all the way. I'd stay away from 400w unless you are trying to have a fish fry in your tank.
