Side 3/4 return hole with no overflow
Hi,
I am picking up a used tank soon and it has one hole on each top side of the back glass. how can i plumb this? i am used to the tank being drill on the bottom. any pics and ideas would be great! i would like this to be as quiet as possible. thanks! |

Many fish stores have hteir system set up this way. The single hole is a drain, you just plumb your return old school style, as if it were coming from an external filter or wet dry.

Forgot to add there are many ways to plumb that drain. Fish stores would usually just slap a strainer on a bulkhead. But you have many other choices that include making a custom overflow box to cover the drain.
