I have wave point and love it! my LFS was able to get me one from his buyer for $180 brand new so I couldn't go wrong. Sucker is industrial built and has a glass panel built in as a splash guard that is super nice because once a month I can flip it over and give it a windex bath and it keeps the bulbs peak performance.

the only downfall to wave point is they only have one ballast so it's an all on or all off fixture. You can't turn on bulbs 2 and 4 and leave off 1 and 3.

Wave Point doesn't have fans so ome complain that it overheats, mine doesn't. Goes it get hot - I can put my hand on the top and feel the radiant heat but it doesn't burn me. I also see this as a bonus because no fans means no noise or extra annoying plug ins to deal with. Wave point you have 1 master plug in and that is it.

Current have really gone downhill. Of all 4 of my LFS here (I'm only talking about the small mom and pops private owned not big boxers like Petco and Petsmart) none of them will order or carry current bulbs or fixtures anymore. All have told me that the quality has diminished so much that the return ratio has exceeded their desire to deal with them anymore. Current bulbs are worthless btw. I haven't met a person here on Reef Central that will tell you to keep current bulbs in your fixture. Most told me when I was looking at a T5 that if I went current, budget in $100-140 extra to immediately take the bulbs out and throw them in the trash with quality bulbs.

I have an aquaticlife 4 bulb and it is great. One plug, built in timer, and not too loud.

You should never spray around your tank, spray on the towel them apply!
