So what is the point of this if you already have an iphone and a laptop or desktop?

I cant see the advantage? I thought it was suppose to be as powerful as a laptop. Seems like an oversized Iphone.

ATT is the 3G coverage.
$14.99 for 250MB/month
$29.99 for unlimited access
Best part is that the plan is prepaid w/ no contract!

It appears that Apple is going to market this hard toward schools especially as a text book replacement device. Imagine kids going to school with nothing but their iPad and lunch. The can do their homework on it and upload it to the teacher when they get to school, surf the net, play games, digital text books, ect... If you own any stock in Barnes and Noble......better consider selling because the will soon be out of hear like the 8 track!

True but with the 3G deal that ATT is offering, makes it pretty unbeatable.

The only thing that would have been better was if they would allow you to piggyback off of your exhisting 3G service on you iPhone. The ability was added to the iPhone software some time ago, however AT&T is not yet allowing. Maybe in the future though. Who knows?

AMAZING!!! another damn reason for this Apple trend to keep growing. This thing is useless, it does the same exact thing as an iphone only with a bigger screen. It still can't multi task so *** is the point. On to the next...
