changing from 20k to 14k bulbs?

I presently have 3 20k bulbs that are about 6 months old that i would like to change for 3 phoenix 14k bulbs for better growth. Should i raise my fixture a bit or would it be ok just like that ? If so, how much higher? Have an idea?

no, phoenix arent 14k bulbs even though they are labelled as such and have decent PAR. the color wont be much different than the current 20k's your using (those are speculated to be rebadged Ushio/BLV 20ks). I dont think you need to take any special precautions with that switch. anytime you switch to fresh bulbs unless you buy something inferior there is going to be a boost in PAR. If you were going with like an XM10k then I'd reacclimate but not for your change.

Aren't the giesemann supposed to be low par and the phoenix high par? I tried to look for the par of both bulbs but can'y find it. Sanjay's web pages only talk about ccd or something like that but i just don't understand what he's talking about. And i haven't found anything on the phoenix 14 de bulb , only the 10k
