Want to go bare bottom

I have a few inches of C.C. in my tank and I was thinking about going bare bottom. What is the best way to remove the C.C.? Should I take all the LR, coral, livestock and most of the water?

I just upgraded to this tank a little over three months ago. Most of the rock was from established systems and my original tank was setup 9 months ago.

Siphon out a bit each water change and you will be good to go without shocking the system.

I've been doing that. At that rate I'll have C.C. in my tank for another year.

You can remove it all at once, but I'd have some Amquel on hand, and plenty of water for changes. Most often, such changes don't cause any appreciable problems, but the crushed coral might be very dirty, which can cause an ammonia spike.
