algae free magnet leaving hazy streak behind it on acrylic tanK?

Is it supposed to do that, am I using it wrong or something?

on the inside or the out side. on the outside i always use microfiber towel between magnet and acrylic.

If it is on the outside the felt may have come off and the glue is streaking.

or it could just be salt water smear if any water happened to get between the outside portion and the acrylic

its on theinside, there were three hazy spotsbefore i started cleaning, and i guessit smeared whatever it was, now i dont know whether to just keep cleaning and hope oit goes in the water coljumn, or clean the magnet first.
