it will work but I would probably go with something a bit bigger for a 150

To small. Its only pushing 900 gals/hr @ 0 head. By the time it gets to your tank you will see a lot less. Shoot for double that and even with head loss you will be good. unless yoer drain pipe is too small.

I had a 1262 on both my 180's, seemed perfect to me.
Too many people run too high of flow on returns IMO. 3-5x turnover for return has worked great for me and many others.

I just picked one on ebay for $63 shipped, brand new but it has some damage on the end of the case (cosmetic). I was planning on using it as a back-up, but I may just use it as my main pump instead of my OR 3500.

I completely disagree with anyone who says this pump is to small for a 150. I use one on my 150 and after 4 feet of head have between 400 and 500gph going through my sump. At times this seems a bit much. You only want about 3 times your tank volume through your sump per hour for efficient skimming. If your skimmer pump can handle more than 500gph then maybe go a bit bigger. You dont want 1000gph blasting through your sump if your skimmer can only process 400 gph. You should supplement any flow needed in your DT for corals with powerheads.
