assuming the total volume is equivalent over the course of the same time period then i don't think it makes a difference.

Reefers choice, some people don't even perform water changes. As for me, I like bi-monthly changes.

It is better to make more frequent smaller changes. Large changes make rapid chemical changes that can stress fish and corals.

um smaller more often ! the more the better as you are diluting the "bad" with new fresh water so the more small ones you can do are better for keeping the entire tank more stable

I recently shut my skimmer off and replaced my k2 with a Vortech mp 10 in my 29g. I don't have a lot of surface movement now (no sump) so I pull organic build up off every few days. That's why I changed. CAN'T WAIT TILL I ADD A SUMP!!

I do 20 gallon wc bi weekly but if it helps keep the water more stable and causes the least shock to the livestock, I can do 10 gallons every week. Doesn't make a difference to me, just wanted to know what would be easier on the fish in the tank. Thanks for help

a 5 gallon water change would be okay for maybe a 40 gallon or something but I have a 150 so it needs greater amounts of water changes. 5 gallons wouldn't be enough for my system.
