Pod Trap?

Ok so I have an insane amount of amphipods and copepods in the sump. They line all of the glass. I have a basketball sized piece of chaeto that is loaded with them. I want to transfer a large amount of them to the display at night. I have ripped chunks of chaeto and shaken them into the display, however I release a lot of detritus and it seems most of the large pods stay in the chaeto ball. Can I make a trap somehow? What about a small net baited with some food? Ya think the pods will just sit there and eat it and then I can dump it in the display?

Does anyone use anything? I have tried to suck them up with a baster but they just run away haha. And I really want to add like a concentrated teaspoon or something.
