Does this work??

I'm looking into lighting options for a small tank (14" diameter circle, and 18" deep) and I'm wondering if this type of bulb would work and if so how many. It says that it has 480 lumens but not sure if that's what I should be looking at and what color spectrum I need?
Thanks

what type of tank do you intend to keep reef or fish only? there are some great led choices out there however that is not one of them it will be to yellow. honestly if your looking for a cheap alternative good luck not many options for truely cheap. I think if it were me and I had a limited budget I would consider powerbrite strips from current one all blue and one all white. If you buy two seperate strips (not the links) you can even have actinic seperated from the white or you can go with a main strip and a link but they will both be on all the time. good luck with your search and welcome to the hobby...

I'm sure there are some nano tank owners that can give you better advise than me on lighting, but assuming a nano reef tank, something like this this would be more appropriate -

If you are wanting to keep corals I would not gi with that bulb. It will probably do fine in a refugium with macro algae, that seems to grow under just about any light.

That bulb is probably the cheapest and easiest bulb that will work in a standard fixture. I keep two of the 20 watters above a 10g "DIY Nanocube" The depth of your tank is what I would have issues with, depending on what you want to keep of course.
