fs: Warner Marine K2 Cone Skimmer
I used this thing for less than a week, its HUGE, it's a huge pain in the $#%@ to do anything in my sump because my sump is 40g with multiple chambers. I have to change my filter sock twice a week and I just can't do it with this thing and i'm sad to let it go because I wanted it so bad, but what can you do..
I got it new, had a small leak where the gate valve attachment is so I just siliconed it. Also the drain fitting on the collection cup needs to be replaced (probably a dollar or two) and the plumbing on the gate valve is white instead of black, but you can't even see it once installed. everything works perfectly fine, I just need something with a smaller footprint for now. it needs at least 15.5" x 12.5" I would say, with an 8" water level. Rated for up to 300g light bioload or 180g heavy SPS, retails for $700, will sell for $500 OBO, no low ballers accepted. Serious inquiries only located in fullerton, PM me |

bro Jason
Why don't you get the filter pad and put in the last chamber? it works well and your skimmer have a chance to take out more dirty stuffs too, so you don't have to sell your skimmer. just my 2 cent.

danny, I tried alot of things, and I need to have the filter sock there.. it works well for me, otherwise it's a salt creep nightmare.

I have one in a 40 gal sump too and it's much bigger than I thought. But overall the K2 is a great skimmer.

I agree, this skimmer is bada$$, just not meant for my sump though.. I have like zero room to wiggle in any which direction. will make my life easier to get a skimmer with a smaller footprint.

i would never be able to fit the ati bm 250, I think the footprint on that is bigger than the K2. but I do have another skimmer on the way so I am not taking trades.

Can it run externally?
I'm have a tub setup that has a drain back into the sump for overflows and small leaks, but I'm wondering if the pump will be happy running externally.

Is that because the pump will overheat when not submerged?
