Semi Coast to coast overflow HELP

Ok so I built my Internal overflow out of acrylic 48" long 5 high 4 deep.

Tank is a glass 115 60" long but last night the seem lifted on the corner and put like a gallon on my floor. I know there are many people that say glass to glass and vica versa. My questions are:

Should I redoo the Overflow using glass?

Or resilicone with ge rtv108, when I siliconed it in I didn't put a bead between the glass and acrylic just on either side of the box. Held it in place with superglue, then siliconed the outside and inside.

Fortunately I was doing a fresh water test and checking for leaks.

Thanks
Anthony

I would redo it in glass. Silicone sticks to glass far better than it will ever stick to acrylic. In a non structural seam, though not ideal, acrylic can be used, however an overflow is structural (if it is external) and you cannot rely on silicone to hold it in place.

This overflow is internal, but I was thinking of just redoing it any way.

PLEASE DONT USE GREAT STUFF (THE YELLOW STUFF) IN YOUR TANK........USE POND FOAM (THE BLACK STUFF).. I BEG YOU!

Great stuff====$5 a can
24-48 hour cure
Epoxy to cover it====little as $5 for small projects or up to $100+ for larger projects
and another 24-48 hour cure
I hope you covered it well cuz if you didnt it will start to break down in a few months
sand is another added cost to cover up the yellow.

Pond foams====$9-$15 a can
24-48 hour cure
DONE! You can cover it with sand if you want to (YOU DONT HAVE TO) though but thats added cost again

Current Tank Info: 75 gal under way
