My friend recently gave me a Current USA 40 watt, SmartPaq Compact Fluorescent Lamp, I was wondering if that light would be good enough to grow cheato? Also later on i would like to frag some mushrooms, will that light be okay?Color: 10,000K and 460nm Actinic Colors
Length: 16.75 inches Wattage: 40 watts Pin Type: Square Type: Compact Fluorescent |

that will be more than enough for just a chaeto fuge. As long as you have more than 65k you are ok. 40watts is a tad much, its cheaper to get some at Homedepot or your local hardware store and make that into your fuge light. Cheaper bulb, cheaper setup, cheaper watts.

+1 I run fuges on 2 of my nanos with home depot specials. Get the 6" or 8" clip on reflectors then use the screw in daylight cfs. These will be above the 5000K range and very good for macro.

http://sparklingfloorservice.com/mel...fuge_bulb.html for your fuge
That light will be fine for some mushroom frags.
