Quick emerald crab question
I have an emerald crab (moderate-large size) and I would like to add another small emerald crab to my tank (29g biocube). Could anyone comment on the likely hood of the larger crab not liking the new little brother?
Thanks in advance.

One is enough for a 29g. I would skip on another.

Thanks for the response, I have seen many nano's with multiple emerald crabs, so I'm willing to add one based on space. My question is will the original crab likely be aggressive towards and/or hurt the little one. If so I will not be getting one. Thanks

I don't think they fight. I've never seen that happen in the 8 or so years I've kept them.

I have 3 and they will sit next to each other picking at the rock. Never fought.

My concern with two in that size tank is food supply. Once they get large AND hungry they can become a problem. I have seen them rip the flesh from zoanthids, pull polyps off of sps, and rip tissue off lps.
If you spot feed them or have a lot of algae then you are probably fine. They shouldn't fight each other. In the end, you only want to keep one if your husbandry is up to par.

Unfortunately just because we see people do something incorrectly doesn't make it any more right. That said, if they do run out of food you can always buy algae wafers. Mine go xrazy for them.
