FS: PFO Solaris LED - Two! 5 feet LED lights

A couple of years ago, I got sucked in into the LED frenzy. Back then, I ordered a 5 ft Solaris LED light.

Here is a link to a "forgotten" Marine Depot blog site with some details:
http://blog.marinedepot.com/2008/09/...laris-led.html

After anxious waiting, the light arrived but as it turned out UPS "destroyed" the light and it arrived with cracked plastic splash guard and two of the power supplies had cracked motherboards. I called, they filed an insurance claim, and PFO immediately sent me a new light.

Just a few weeks later, PFO went under and nobody ever asked me back for the broken light. Back then, I checked the light with the new power supplies, and all five banks worked.

I used the new light for a few months, but the build in timer had some issues and I ended up swapping the lights repairing the broken light with the splash guard and using the working power supplies. The light worked without flaws and I took it down a couple of months ago, when I retired my tank for a new ELOS system.

Over Christmas, I decided to "gut" the broken Solaris that had timer issues because I wanted to custom build a high power LED system for my new 2nd ELOS Mini Cube system. But then I decided to go with an ELOS HQI lamp realizing that I have some handy skills but that my custom look for the new lamp did not fly with my better half...

So, for sale is:

1x 5 ft PFO Solaris LED light system (used for about 1 1/2 years) with three original power supplies (all are working). Lights work great, no dead LEDs.

AND

1x 5ft PFO Solaris LED light, in parts - all LEDs worked before I took the system apart. This also includes the 3 original power supplies (two of them had issues, but might be repairable)

AND

2x 7 1/4 x 14 inches aluminum heat sinks (that I planned to use as "base" for the custom MINI high power LED light)

I am selling this all as one single package (sorry, no parting out) and it is pickup only (Menlo Park) - these lights are heavy and bulky.

If you just get it for the Solaris, you will get a fine light. You can use the rest of the stuff for repairs in case some parts fail. Or use everything to custom build a dream LED light from parts (My original plan).

These lights sold for quite some money 2 years ago and right now, nothing comparable is on the market, and even with PFO out of the market, you should have a good collection of repair parts just in case.

Did I mention that LED also saves some money and tier 3 and 4 pricing from PG&E does hurt.

Price: $550

PM me in case you are interested.

Some pictures...

Here are a couple of pictures.
I tried to figure out the version or series of the lights, but all I was able to come up with is that the software is version 01.01.03.

I also realized that the working LED has some weak or not working LEDs (sorry for initially stating that all LEDs work - it did not show when the light was installed).

Because of that I am ready to talk about the price...
remember that the lights come with a whole box of replacement parts!

- S

The intact light - nice and blue...

3 of the 6 power units - these 3 work without issues

Parts and pieces of the second light, also in the box are the two heat sinks that I had in mind for building my custom Mega-LED light...

Solaris Version 01.01.03
what ever this means...

The body and some control circuits, heat sinks,...

2 full LED banks

the one on the left has 3 LEDs that are weaker than the rest

the bank on the right has lost a couple of LEDs, the other one has 2 that are weaker

I do. He' right these lights are smokin and for a DIY project you have everything here for the ultimate LED set up to beat any system out there. My Solaris is gen 1 200 w everything works but it's 6-7(?) yrs old. Some LEDs need replacement as they are dimming not out that's how I know the fixture is 100% functional. when I looked into the replacements I figured I would upgrade to 3w bulbs. Then very quickly realized I just don't have the time or skill set so as soon as my AI Sol Blues get here these puppies are for sale. 4' / 4 array's 25 bulbs ea array/ 2 working power supplies that were replaced 2-3 yrs ago. the light is on the tank now and controller works like the day it was new.
Make offer and yes these lights were 2K new.

i have the entire light 1 or 2 flickering LED's but everything seems to work fine. Gen 2 I think. Power supplies are actually new. Before PFO went under I had them replaced.
