Gbta
My tank has been set up since late August. I have many SPS, acans, zoas, etc but I have found an excellent deal regarding black and white clown pair and their GBTA. So, how mobile are these creatures? I've read, from a club member's post, that they can get sucked into power heads and destroy the entire tank... Will this creature destroy some of my precious acans? In short, I'm wondering if I should take the anemone on the deal.
Please share and advice, personal experience or whatever you have to offer. Thank you for your time. |

IMO if you have a healthy tank and are able to monitor it closely for a few days I say go for it. There isnt much thats cooler than watching the symbiotic relationship between clowns and BTAs. It may wander a bit the first couple of days, as long as the lighting and flow are sufficient it will soon pick a spot to put its foot down and stay. I have two anemones. One wandered for 5 days and the other for 2. Neither has ever moved more than an inch or two since picking a home. Both have been in one spot for over a year. You can alter your rockwork to try and encourage them to stay away from other corals. Basically try to box them in, in a general area where you hope they might stay. I would start with low to medium flow (closer to low) and in direct light.
