Koralia Magnum - You be the judge :)

ok so now the Magnum is out and it's a big improvement. But did anyone use it on a Wavemaker with constant On/Off?

the older models is a big no no as we know it, but let's hear from the new Magnum users.

Big THANKS to all those who chime in

What's different about them other than the fact they can now be used on a wavemaker/controller?

I use the old one on a wavemaker with no problem, but the magnums are supposed to be better. Also, the new Koralia Evo's are supposed to be better than the other Koralias.

Smaller, more efficient, more flow, new mounting to minimize noise, and able to be turned on and off repeatedly without making noise.

this is from ************:
The most physically noticeable difference between the EVO Korallias and the legacy pumps is their reduced size which will hopefully make the Korallias look a lot less like toy footballs.

The magnums are bigger than the k-nano thru k-4. The new generation koralias appear to be an entirely new line of pumps that are 30% smaller than the previous model.

I use a Magnum 5 in my 75 that turns on and off every 12 mins. Its been running in my tank for 8 months so far. It is very silent and does not rattle like the other models do when turned on/off.

People are interchanging things here.

The Koralia Magnum is not new, that line has been out for a almost a year I think. They are really big, and really ugly.

The new koralias are the Evo's. These ones are a bit smaller than the original koralias, and use the new shaft-less impeller design Hydor has been touting. They are also supposed to put out more flow and less wattage.

Pretty sure the wave maker compatibility is directly connected to the new Shaft-less Impeller system on the Evos.

ok guys i missed the other thread also relate to this new model. i got the number and called someone frm the manufacture and here is what i gathered.

they are NOT the magnum, they are the Evo. they have almost the same flow rate as the older Koralia models, they have the same impeler design as the Magnum, they are quiet, and the best part of it all is:

they are build to withstand the abuse of the RedSea wavemaker.

sweet!
