Best Wrasse for flatworms
I've heard that Halichoeres sp. and a few other species eat flatworms.
I was wondering which specific fish is BEST for flatworms/has the most chance for having a taste for them.

Sixline or Yellow.
I have seen/used both and they are excellent. If you have flatworms in your tank but under control and bring a frag into your LFS, I'd still have them iodine dip it just to be on the safe side. HTH!

Yeah I understand. I'm debating whether to siphon out as much as I can and add a wrasse, or just go straight for the kill (but risky as well) using FWE

I read up on FWE, and to be honest, it kind of scared me so I siphoned out a bunch, and in went the sixline (in my 125). Since then, it has been VERY difficult to find a single flat worm.

Mystery Wrasse, Pseudocheilinus ocellatus, almost a guarantee that they will eat flatworms, but they are very expensive. Most others are hit or miss...just like those stupid non-aiptasia eating pepperments!

My Sixline Wrasse took care of mine. I never had to do anything. I had them pretty bad at 1 point, but I only ever saw them in my sump, never in the DT. And my Sixline always had a fat stomach

My melanurus wrasse cruises the tank all day searching for pests and nabbed up any wondering flatworms.
Also a cheaper alternative to FWE if this is your only option left: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=1379099 |

Get a male and female H. melanurus pair. They're hardy, cheap, attractive, and about the closest thing to a surefire bet to eat flatworms that you'll find. Other Halichoeres are good as well, but most are not quite as hardy as the melanurus or are more expensive.

Ha well its good to know you found a keeper.. Hopefully I will get a wrasse that will help out...
Does everyone agree that Mystery Wrasses are the most likely to eat the flatworms? If that is the case, I would rather fork out some extra dough for one.

No, I'd put the Mystery down on the list a bit for most likely to eat flatworms. They and six lines can also get really mean so I'm not much of a fan of either.

Thanks hartdude.
