metal in my gravel ?

so i just cleaned up twelve tanks of mine that are all on a common sump . they are fish only and i am in the process of taking them down . my grandchildren always play with the magnetic glass cleaners and many of them became submerged in the sand .gravel ,rubble which is all different in each tank .they have been there for months and when i was in the process of removing the substrate in each tank i found all the magnets . in four tanks that contained shells and small coarse rubble the magnets had metal adhered to them much to my dismay .some pieces were the size of a penny and they look like shells or pieces of them . has anyone found any of these hitchhikers ?it cant be good for the tank water or at least i was lucky that i have no corals in them . what kind of shell contains metal ?is it harmful ?am i crazy ,no cause i took the thirty or so pieces off the magnet and picked them up multiple times with another magnet just to make sure i wasn't insane .nope its metal of some sort and it came in crushed coral bags .i don't know the brand as it was nine years since i put it in and its not stuff that the kids threw into the tanks .hmmmmmmmmmmm
