Catalina Goby Compatibility
Hello,
I am new to this forum, used to be into acquaria in a big way but have been away from it for years. I thought my next project might be a temperate/cool water tank so I have decided to build my system around Gulf of California species with Catalina Gobies (Lythrypnus dalli) as the centerpiece. I have the advantage of starting my collection from scratch so can purpose-select species that are best-suited to a cool water tank. Given that Catalinas need a cool environment (55~65 Deg. F), my question is: What other species (fish and inverts) are suited to that temperature range? I would really appreciate input from anyone who has had success with these beautiful little fish. Kind regards, LM Thomson |

Apparently Turbo snails are cool-water, but I am not sure HOW cool.

Since the catalina goby is going to be your centerpiece then I am assuming its a pretty small tank? How big is it? That will also help with tankmate recommendations.

Catalina Goby Compatability and Tank Size

Actually, I am planning on a 150 to 200 gal. setup so hope to have as many catalinas as that volume will permit. What do you think? Cheers, LM Thomson |
