GE silicone I

I bought some GE silicone I (windows, door, attic, basement) because I thought it was aquarium safe but when I got it home and read through the directions it says "not for use below the water line or aquariums". I'm just using to glue baffles in my sump not building aquarium. Is this the right stuff?

Yes. They just dont want the liability if you use it to build a tank and it leaks.

As long as it says 100% silicone and in small print it states fda approved for incidental food contact you are fine.

+1 I used the exact same thing for the exact same thing And I had to do any emergency sump changeout, so it barely even cured. No problems at all.

Yeah, I doing the exact same thing. Ok, it's not really an emergency. How long did you wait? The instructions say wait 12 hours before exposure to water.

It's all I've ever used.

I wouldn't build a tank out of it (because there's better stuff available) but it's definitely safe IMHO.

Either GE RTV 108 or SCS 1200.
