Make one out of an Ocean Spray Cranberry or something clear and square. Just so there is enough room inside so he isn't real nervous. Put some Nori inside. Even if you have to leave it for a few days. Once he is used to it get your net or whatever your going to block his exit with and wait. I've never had a problem most tangs are nuts for algae sheets and will get jealous if they see any of the other fish getting their food.

Patience and the technique paraletho described above. I have caught many fish that way. Let them really get used having the bottle or specimen container or whatever in the tank. Once they are really comfortable going in and out of it, and will actually hang out in it eating, then trap them in it.

If you move too early, and try to spring the trap while they are still skittish about the container, they'll escape the trap while you are trying to get them, and they'll never go back into it. Sometimes, I have waited a couple of weeks to trap the fish.

Did this a couple of times. You want fly hooks, size 18-miniscule depending on the size of the fish. Pinch the barb down with some tweezers and bait the hook. Works really quickly actually. I got fish out within a matter of minutes, just make sure they are hungry and do it while feeding the tank and they will take it without even thinking twice.
