time for new bulbs...radium or phoenix?
The time has come to replace the MH bulbs in my 65 gallon. I currently have 2 - 250w SE radiums. I run them on icecaps. I am happy with the color...I like the deep blue, but was wondering if the phoenix 250 SE provides the same blue but with more PAR for better growth. Anyone out there have experience with comparing these two bulbs? Only the SE versions...Thanks

I have used both and think the Phoenix bulbs are somewhat over-priced when compared to the radiums. That said, I supplement my radiums.

Since you said SE, I'd have to go with radiums also. Phoenixeseses's se's are expensive

I had a 175 Phoenix SE and it was VERY blue and VERY expensive.
I'm very happy with my Radium 20K 250 SE bulbs. ![]()

Thanks everyone...I realized that its not quite time to change my existing radiums. I only run them 4 hours a day each so I should be good for a few more months, but when i do replace I am going to stick with them.
