Too much Coraline...? (pics)

Coraline algae seems to be blooming in full force in my tank, while not necessarily bad, I'm afraid it's toll on my calcium levels.... not to mention my view of the tank. I do like how it looks however and I believe it is an indicator of a healthy tank. Are there any decent clean-up animals that eat it? I hear some sea urchins will eat it. My tank is stocked with the following: Black Clownfish 2 x Bangaii Cardinals Sixline Wrasse Tailspot Blenny Sleeper Banded Goby |

You might want to scrape all but the back glass with a razor blade... that is what I do.

Some urchins love it, but they will not keep everything clean, only make trails all over. You will need to just keep up on scraping. If you do it often, it really doesn't seem to ever get a foothold.

That's a lot of coraline, you'd only need to scrape some off so it doesn't obstruct your view unless you like the pinkish hues. Are you dosing anything ?

This is a year old pic (less algae so you can see the set-up better) The tank has been running off and on as a reef. Theres a pic of the tank about 2 years ago as a frag tank. Bonus points if you can spot the fuzzy dwarf lion! |

Mag float + easy blade attachment. No animal is going to control it the way you'd want and it's not like that's going to reduce the toll on your calcium levels anymore than if you just scraped it off.
