Coralife digital timer?
Ok, I bought the coralife timer cause it turns the two sources off and turns the other two on, so you can get day and night, along with dusk/dawn using my $16.95 walmart digital timer that just has off/on on all 4 ports.
After a year of the coralife timer.. I have now encountered a problem.. I get home from work every couple days.. and only my two Aqua Sci 22K blues are on.. and my supplements havent come on.. why.. its reset itself, for no aparent reason at all.. I even replaced the 76S 1.5V battery in it to hold on to memory functions in the event of a brown or black out.. still doesnt correct the problem... Is this a common problem? Has anyone else had this problem?? Im using a 6x54W Tekllight using a mixed Aqu Sci and KG bulb set-up with one night light on each end of the tank. The Aqua Sci 22k blues are on the $16 walmart digital timer, and my supplements and night lights are on the coralife timer ($60)

Mine did the same...I also found many threads that claim they are unsafe. Mine went to the garbage.

check out the reefkeeper lite. its $100, controls 4 outlets with temp control. It is a much better solution then the coralife timers which are absolute junk.

+1 I went through two coralife timers in a little over a year. I ended up buying a Reef Keeper light and have absolutely loved it =). |

Coralife is the worse product you can buy. EVERYTHING, lights, timers, bulbs, all stopped working for me. Moral to the story; no more coralife!

I have been using intermatic outdoor light timers (HD/Lowes ~ $10) for over 20 years, and still have the originals - pretty much unbeatable, IMO

I bought a surge strip designed for reptile system that has a built in timer that runs off battery. 2 daytime outlets, 2 night time outlets, and 4 always on outlets. With 7 programmable schedules. So far it works great. I ended up buying one more surge strip as more things needed to be always on than the 4 outlets I had, but, for $35 getting a surge strip and timer in one, seemed like a good deal to me.

The RKL will give you great control and before you know it you will have 3 more power strips and will be controlling everything! I speak from experience, and now I am thinking of upgrading to the RKE!
