Lighting for a 125
I currently have PC's and a set of t5's on my tank. I want to be able to keep some monti's. I was thinking of switching out the PC's with either VHO or 4 more t5's That would give me 6 t5's on the tank. I don't want to do MH because of cost. Can someone recommend where to buy as well? Thanks

With T5's its all about bulb combination and reflectors. With the right reflectors like Ice cap for example, and the proper premium bulb combination you shouldn't have any problem keeping monti's depending on the depth of your tank. I would suggest doing some more research on T5 bulbs.
Also if you are worried about cost I would rethink the T5 think. You figure a 6 bulb T5 fixture at $20 per bulb that's $120. I have read most people switch out their bulbs every 6-8mo thats roughly $240 every 1yr to 1.5yrs compared to a $70-$100 MH bulb. Just some things to consider. Hope that helps some. |
