CO2 Scrubbers for skimmer air intake- opinions?
I have come across this (or something similar) on a few different websites
http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/cat...oducts_id=5898 Anyone have any opinions or experiences with them? Know of any reviews online? Are they worth the money? Is there a noticeable increase in the ph? With my tank in the basement, I'm sure it's not the greatest quality of air the skimmer is pulling in. But the sump is too far away from an exterior wall to run a line for fresh (outside) air. |

I just ordered 6 LBS of soda lime for $25 http://www.shopmedvet.com/product/13...hesia-products
2- 3lb bags + $10 shipping. I'm ordering a RO cartridge from BRS I wonder if only using the scrubber at night will extend the life of the media |

I imagine it would. Good idea... You could use an electronic valve on a timer & have it switch between lights on / lights off.

I have an extra RO cartridge laying around. Maybe for 25 bucks I might give it a try.
Lord knows I've wasted a lot more money than that since getting into this hobby. |

No problem, I ordered my cart from http://www.thefilterguys.biz/skimmer_media.htm instead of BRS because they had the flexible airline hose.
Let us know how it works out for you and I'll update when I get everything in. |

In the other thread Ken was getting around 2 weeks out of his, I was going to try using mine only at night and see how long it holds out.
