What is the general thought on trading live sand or rock

Does the benefit of the bio diversity outweigh the risk of picking up something you might not want?

Since each or our systems is unique I would think that each would have different bio makeup (Yep I just made that up) and therefor we might get a more bacteria and small organism diversity.

What are you thoughts?

I think it's like casual sex, look for people who are up front and honest about what they are carrying and don't just go with just anyone who's willing. And if you're not sure, just get married (i.e., stop having sex.)

Seriously, though, the people on this board are honest beyond compare, and they really think of your tank as part of the overall AZ Reef community, which means they care about it, so I think your risk of picking up something unexpected is pretty low if you stick with regular AZFRAG members.
