help! METAL HEALIDE not working
My metal Healide fixture went out! It started smoking for god knows what reason and as i opened it i found all this brown stuff all over the fixture parts.. JUST wondering if its still fixable because money is tight and times are hard and id hate to have to buy an entire new fixture. Here are the pictures of the fixture hopefully there is somebody out there that can lead me to the best choice.
THis is a 48" fixture with 2 X 250 double ended bulbs. on this picture you can see where the plastic bubbled up on the side of this object Please post up any ideas, anything will help. thanks RC friends maaz |

the single ended i think is the regular bulb for the moonlights (it sucks though) u can barely tell there is any light going through the blue glass on the fixture. im not sure how its all connected. When i opened the fixture it looked kind of odd to me as well.

Why are you bumping this ??? Its a MH fixture, it had an igniter go bad and someone gave you a link to the correct replacement part. Its an electrical component, they dont last forever... Ive replaced hundreds of them over the years in facility maintenance.
It looks like the capacitor has some marking on the side of it, so that couldve gone bad as well, but I would just replace the igniter and see if it fixes it. Just looked at it again, it says 220-240v on the igniter. Is this a standard light ??? What fixture is it ???
